Throws & Takedowns

Not every confrontation can be solved with striking alone.

Whether you are dealing with an aggressive individual, protecting a loved one, or responding to a physical assault, the ability to control, off-balance, and dominate another person can provide a decisive advantage.

Our Throws & Takedowns course is designed to teach practical methods of disrupting an aggressor’s balance and taking control of a confrontation. Drawing upon principles from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, military combatives, and real-world self-preservation, students learn how to safely and effectively bring an aggressor to the ground while maintaining control of the situation.

This is not about competition.

This is about control.

Students will learn:

• Understanding balance, posture, and body mechanics
• Breaking an aggressor’s structure and stability
• Clinch entries and positional control
• Simple, high-percentage takedowns for real-world application
• Foot sweeps, trips, and body-lock takedowns
• Using leverage rather than strength
• Maintaining control during and after the takedown
• Standing control and restraint concepts
• Ground positioning following a successful takedown
• Decision-making under pressure

Training is delivered through progressive drills, partner exercises, and realistic scenario-based training designed to build confidence, timing, and practical skill.

Whether you are a civilian seeking effective self-protection skills, a security professional, emergency responder, or someone who wants greater confidence in managing physical confrontation, this course provides practical tools that can be applied in real-world situations.

The objective is not to overpower an opponent through brute force.

The objective is to gain control, manage the threat, and create the opportunity to disengage and reach safety.

Throws & Takedowns

Because control begins when balance is lost.
