Close Quarter Survival (CQS)

Violence rarely happens at long range.

Most real-world assaults occur at conversational distance—where there is no warning, no time to think, and no room to manoeuvre.

Our Close Quarter Survival (CQS) course is designed to prepare you for the harsh realities of close-range violence. Built on proven principles drawn from military combatives, Pekiti Tirsia Kali, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, and real-world operational experience, CQS develops the skills needed to function effectively when an aggressor is within touching distance.

This is not sport fighting.

This is self-preservation.

Students will learn:

  • Threat recognition and pre-contact awareness
  • Verbal de-escalation and conflict management
  • Dominant positioning and control under pressure
  • Striking, clinching, and close-range counter-attacks
  • Limb control and weapon access prevention
  • Edged weapon awareness and survival concepts
  • Ground survival and rapid recovery to standing
  • Environmental and confined-space survival skills
  • Decision-making under stress and adrenal response management

Training is delivered through progressive drills, pressure testing, and realistic scenario-based exercises designed to build confidence, resilience, and functional skill.

Whether you are a member of the military, law enforcement, security industry, emergency services, or simply someone who takes responsibility for their own personal safety, CQS provides practical, reality-based skills that can be applied when it matters most.

The objective is not to win a fight.

The objective is to recognise danger early, make good decisions under pressure, protect yourself and those around you, and get home safely.

Close Quarter Survival (CQS)

Because violence doesn’t give you distance.
